I remember when I first started investing in real estate, I was so stuck in analysis paralysis. I knew I wanted to do a BRRR deal, but I was afraid of making a mistake. I read all the books, listened to all the podcasts, and talked to all the experts, but I still couldn’t seem to get myself to take action.

I was so afraid of losing money that I was paralyzed by fear. I would spend hours researching a property, only to find something wrong with it and move on to the next one. I was so worried about making a mistake that I never actually made any progress.

One day, I had a conversation with a mentor who told me something that changed my life. He said, “The only way to learn is to do.” He told me that I would never know if I could be successful in real estate unless I took action and tried.

That conversation was a wake-up call for me. I realized that I was letting my fear hold me back from achieving my goals. I decided to take a deep breath and take action. I found a property that I liked, made an offer, and it was accepted!

The deal wasn’t perfect, but it was a start. I learned a lot from that first deal, and I’ve been investing in real estate ever since.

As a real estate expert, what advice would you give for a new real estate investor who is feeling stuck?

I would echo your mentor, however, you did the work up front to understand the “how do I” components to your action. It was just the initial jump off the cliff that was scary for you. Congrats on knowing how to pull the parachute on the way down!

My advice would be to ensure you have the education and to seek a community (not just one mentor, but a community of expert investors) to lean on!
